Towpath linked to local destinations
The Canal and River Trust have installed some signs on the towapth at strategic road junctions. These will aid travellers without local knowledge who come into the area on foot or cycle along the canal to make connections with the local facilities.
Uxbridge Road
The Uxbridge road A412 dual carriageway crosses the canal on the eastern side of Slough. Along the canal to the west Slough Basin and the town centre's railway and bus stations. By road to the north George Green and Langley and Black parks. Along the canal to the east Langley and Iver, and beyond Yiewsley and West Drayton also with rail connections, and by road to the south Slough and Datchet.

Hillingdon Partnership eased the connection
The signing initiative came from the CRT, and had already been discussed in connection with the bigger project of using canals to provide alternative off road routes within London and beyond. When the subject came up at meetings of the Hillingdon Canal Partnership where representatives of the Friends and the CRT meet several times a year, the Friends were asked for feedback on the proposed signage. Our members have more detailed local knowledge and were able to clarify the links between the towpath and local destinations.
Station Road
The road bridge carries the B470 into the centre of Langley, passing Langley railway station very close to the south of the canal. Again Iver and Yiewsley lie further to the east along the canal, while Slough Basin, the town centre with railway and bus stations lie along the canal to the west. By road Langley railway station is to the south with the centre of Langley beyond, and the northern road leads past Langley Park towards Iver.
